zachvac (2 years ago) umm, no offense but this is completely and utterly wrong. 31% of the time? Even if we assume he's on an A and not a draw, we have 14 outs twice, not for just one card.

1 - (33/47)(32/46) = .511

We are a favorite to win this hand against something like AK. Of course if he has a set or 2-pair here we're not a favorite anymore, but if we assume we have the 14 outs we are a favorite to win the hand. And you're trying to tell me that I'll only win 31% of the time? That's just flat out wrong.
kiwi's Answer: fold
You have middle pair and you're 4-to-the-flush, giving you about 14 outs. There is 18x the big blind in the pot and you would have to call 15x the big blind to play. The pot odds prevent the call from being a smart play. (Although this is not the smart play, many players with 40x the big blind in chips might want to gamble in this position. Keep in mind that it certainly is a gamble. You stand to win about 31% of the time.)
